The Institute’s founder and CEO, Mark Blyth, is a world-class political economist who has won the Nobel Prize for economics.

The Society of the Spectacle is a blog devoted to the art of the social.
Its founder, Eric Hobsbawm, has written about the art and craft of social media.
In the years since he and the Society were founded, Hobswam has developed an entire network of online communities, ranging from forums to chat rooms, that offer a place for people to share, learn, and share their thoughts.
The Culture of the Society was founded in 2014 by Eric Hobbs, a fellow artist who is also a co-founder of the Institute.
In 2015, Hobsbawms first blog post became the title of his book, the Culture of Culture: A Guide to the Social, Cultural, and Literary Arts.
Hobsbaawms new book, Culture of Social, explores how we as individuals, as a society, and as a community can best understand and engage with the social world around us.

Next Big future is a project of The Center for the Future of Social Media at the University of California at Berkeley, with funding from The Rockefeller Foundation.
The Center was founded by two former Stanford professors, David and Sharon W. Rosenfeld.
Their goal is to combine the power and insights of social science research with the technology of social networks to create a new kind of social knowledge that will transform how we live our lives.

In 2011, they launched a social media project called the Next Big Thing.
The team of researchers from Stanford, the University at Buffalo, and Columbia University came up with a set of questions and a set for people who wanted to know more about the future of technology.
Next big is a series of interviews with leading social scientists, technologists, and business executives.
They answer some of the questions and discuss what the future holds for social media, politics, and media.
